Landon's 1st Christmas

Family Christmas Pics

Landon is so excited for his toy!

Christmas was simply amazing. Santa was very good to all of us. Landon wound up with 3 Christmas extravaganzas. We started out by going down to Kevin's parents for Christmas Eve. Landon had a lot of fun opening up his presents. I think he actually preferred the tissue paper over the toys! His favorite item from that night is his jumperoo. He loves bouncing in that thing- thanks Aunt Keyko! After opening up all of the gifts we then headed back home. Landon was so exhausted from the trip that it did not take long to get him down for the night. Kevin and I then placed the gifts under the tree and ate some Christmas cookies. I was so excited for the next morning that I could barely sleep. I guess Landon was excited too because he woke up at 5 a.m! We helped Landon open up all of his presents and set up his Crawl & Cruise Musical Jungle. I couldn't wait to see him play with it. I may enjoy it more than him at times, but it keeps him entertained for quite some time. He loves pulling himself up on it...the only problem is that he gets a little too caught up in playing that he forgets to hold on to the sides and falls down. After we finished opening our gifts we then headed over to my mom's to do gifts there. Landon made out like a bandit once again. My mom went a little present crazy, but Landon loved everything. I think his favorite was his piano. He even crawled to the pile of gifts and picked one out for himself. Kevin and I received a camcorder from my mom so be ready to see tons of video once we post them! We had Christmas dinner at my mom's and then had a small Rock Band session. Landon loved playing the drums with Uncle Matt. I think Christmas wore him out because he took a 2 1/2 hour nap this morning! It was so much fun watching Landon with all of his new toys and I am already looking forward to next year when he has an understanding of Christmas and Santa Claus. We took over 350 pictures of Landon's 1st Christmas, but blogger will only allow me to upload 5 for some reason. I will post more to the slide show at the bottom once I have more time so be sure to come back to check that out.

Christmas Cookies and Ornaments

We've been pretty busy the last couple of days. Landon had a doctors appointment on Tuesday and he is now 21 pounds. He is also getting a 7th tooth in! They just keep coming. Kevin and I wrapped everyone's Christmas gifts on Tuesday as well and I have been baking batches of cookies a little at a time all week long. Alex has been coming over the past three days to help bake the cookies. He loves helping with that kind of stuff. He spent the night last night for the first time in months. Landon loves his Uncle Alex. I took the cutest picture of the two of them together. Landon was watching with intentment as Alex was playing the x-box.

We then made some homemade Christmas ornaments. I combined flour, salt, and water together to make it into a dough and then rolled it out. I then made an impression of Landon's handprint onto two of the ornaments pieces and then took Tinkerbell's paw to the other one. I baked them in the oven and now we have ornaments made by Landon and Tinkerbell...what great memories they will be when we look at them on the tree every year.

Landon is Standing!

Landon has now learned how to stand himself up. He has been pulling himself up onto me for the past month, but has not pulled himself up onto any furniture until yesterday. I walked into his room to get him from his nap and there he was standing up in the crib. It scared me half to death because from his waist up he was over the crib railing. It looked like he could fall at any moment. Needless to say, Kevin and I had to lower his crib last night all the way down. The only problem is that with the crib being lowered Landon's dust ruffle can no longer go on it. We now have to pack that away along with his mobile. His room is starting to look like less of a nursery now. It's kind of sad how quickly everything is changing. Landon doesn't even allow us to adjust to his recent changes before he learns something new! He is growing up way too quick. He will be walking before we know it. He is able to pull himself up on the couch and coffee table and walk along those. He is only 7 months, but wanting to be a 2 year old!

Our Dancing Elf Family

I made us into dancing elves. Make sure to check out the videos at the very bottom of the page. I'm sure you'll get a laugh out of it. Here is another cute picture of Landon for you to enjoy as well.

Landon is 7 Months Old!

Playing with his Pooh

Seven months have now passed since we welcomed Landon into the world. I can't believe how fast time has gone by. Landon has changed so much. He has lost most of his chubbiness in his face, arms, and stomach. His legs, however, are still huge. I think they account for 16 of his 20 lbs! These past 7 months have been filled with so much joy. He is such an easy-going and happy baby. Landon is always smiling and laughing and he loves to cuddle. He is always giving us hugs and kisses. Landon already has such a large personality. He loves to talk and even hums while he eats. He wants to be heard at all times and is only quiet when he's sleeping or getting into the DVDs. He is going to be quite the talker. He whines like a puppy when I leave the room (I think Tinkerbell taught him that) and he has become a big mommy's boy. I love how his face lights up in the morning when Kevin or I go to get him out of his crib and how big he smiles when Kevin walks through the door after coming home from work. He has changed our lives so much and I am excited to see what is in store for us for the next 7 months and years to come.

It's Beginning to Look a lot Like Christmas

We started yesterday morning out by dressing Landon up in his Santa suit and dressing Tinkerbell up with her reindeer antlers and taking pictures of the two of them. Landon enjoyed the pictures a lot more than Tinkerbell! We then took Landon to the mall to get his Christmas pictures done. Of course Olan Mills could not fit us in so we decided to get Landon's pictures done with Santa. Landon was so cute sitting on Santa's lap. We then took him back today for his Christmas photos. It took an hour, but we were finally able to get a few good shots of him smiling. I can't wait until we get the pictures back because we ordered photo Christmas cards as well. We will finally be going to pick up a Christmas tree tonight or tomorrow morning. I've had the ornaments pulled down since the day after Thanksgiving...we just have had no time to go get a tree. Landon also got another top tooth in the other day. He now has 5 teeth! He does not cry or act fussy while he is teething. He just wakes up at 5 a.m. For some reason he just wants an extra feeding early in the morning when he is teething. I guess I can handle that rather than the fevers and fussiness that generally follows teething.

Thanksgiving- a Day of Double Turkeys and Sleepless Nights!

Landon's Thanksgiving outfit

This Thanksgiving was extra special this year because it was Landon's first. He couldn't eat anything other than his pureed sweet potatoes and carrots, but I was so thankful that he was there with us sitting at the table this year. I told everyone that next year Landon gets dibs on a turkey leg. It will make the cutest picture seeing his little hands picking up a turkey leg and trying to eat it! Kevin, Landon, and I headed down to Keystone early Thursday morning to do Thanksgiving dinner (lunch) with his family and then headed back up to Jacksonville for dinner with my family. This was definitely the last year pulling a double dinner. It was a lot to take Landon back and forth. I guess we'll be hosting all holiday dinners for now on so that we can escape the hassle of double dinners. All of the Thanksgiving excitement threw Landon off schedule and he woke up for a midnight feeding and did not go back to bed until 2:30 a.m. I haven't had one of those nights in months! Of course I had to be up at 3:00 a.m. for Black Friday shopping so I got no sleep. It was worth it though. I finished Landon's Christmas shopping. I can not wait for Landon to open up his presents. I am so excited for Christmas morning.

He's grown sooo much . . . . .

Landon is 6 months, going on 7 real soon. He's started eating solids already. So far he's eating apples, pears, bananas, and sweet potatoes. He just started on his vegetables and he doing pretty good with them. He did pretty well with the green peas, but the carrots that was a different story. Let's just say he's no buggs bunny.

His teeth are coming in really well, alot more than expected. He sure does like to bite down on his momma when feeding. It's crazy how insanely happy he is all the time, kinda makes all our worries go away everytime i see him smile. He'll wake up in the morning laughing and just puts on this ridiculously huge smile from ear to ear when Amanda comes to get him. He really makes this whole parenting thing real easy...well i'll admit Amanda does like 98% of the work, but the 2% i get to do, i really really enjoy. it's funny watching him attack the spoon and try feeding himself. He'll start growling at me when the food doesn't come fast enough...literally growling, i think he learned that from Tink. Speaking of Tink, he loves her to death, he's always smiles and laughs when Tink is playing on the floor with him. He tries really hard to pet her, but sometimes he gets too anxious and will grab her hair. But since Tink is the best puppy/little big sister she just licks him like nothing happened.

Landon is starting his crawling phase, well it's more like dry humping the ground more than anything. He seems more interested in trying to stand up. My God help us when he starts walking, then running. I already told him that if he touches the xbox that IT'S ON LIKE DONKEY KONG !!!

Ok, i've said enough. One last thing...my baby is cooler than all of yours...get over it. :o)

Excited for the Holidays

So Kevin learned how to sign in and write blogs. As a result he wrote an incredible cute blog coming from Landon. Rest assured Landon did not eat any cake! Landon is still trying so hard to crawl. He gets up on all fours and rocks himself forward. He will then move one leg and fall down. I can't wait to see him crawl for the first time, but at the same time I can not believe that he is growing up so quickly. Half a year is already gone. Kevin and I started Christmas shopping for Landon. We are so excited for Christmas this year. It will be so much fun watching Landon trying to open up his presents and playing with the wrapping paper more than his toys! We are getting his Christmas pictures done next week. I hope they turn out well. It took two sessions to get his Halloween pictures done because he was cranky and did not like the woman who was taking the pictures. I will post some pics once we get them. We are also looking forward to Thanksgiving. I pureed some pumpkin for Landon to eat on Thanksgiving and he will also have some sweet potatoes. I am so thankful that Landon is in our lives this year. He brings so much joy and happiness to our lives. The holidays will definitely be much brighter this year.

While Amanda was sleeping

ok ok...so this blog comes from Landon.

Well so far i've played in my swing, with my teething rings and on my daddy's face. I like watching him squirm to my every move and sound, he knows mommy needed to nap. I almost got this crawling thing down, but no worries if i really want to move, all i have to do ia cry and someone will get me !!! Oh and I got my two bottom teeth coming in...mommy says they'll be the end of her...whatever that means.

I'm refusing to take a nap today, daddy is here to entertain me and he's got some dirty diapers coming his way. LOL Besides so far today i've gotten to play with all my toys, try some cake, and listen to music.

Well bye everyone, i'm thinking i should nap now.

6 Month Check Up

Landon had his 6 month check up today. He is now 20 lbs 4 oz and 28 inches long. He only put on a few ounces, but grew another full inch! At this rate he will be taller than me by the time he is 3! Landon also received 5 shots today...poor baby. On top of that he also got his second bottom tooth in today. He seems to be in no pain from any of it. He's such a trooper. Landon is beckoning me for his final feeding so it's time to close the computer and stop blogging.

Eagles' Youngest Fan

Last night Landon and I watched the Eagles game. To our dismay the Eagles lost, but Landon looked so adorable in his Eagles outfit that I just have to post a picture.
Nothing much has really happened this past week. Landon got up bright and early this morning...he rose before the sun. I am hoping it is just because he is teething and not a new trend he is starting. He has been really clingy the past two days. I haven't even been able to put him down on the changing table without him crying. Once he leaves my arms he starts screaming. I am so glad that Kevin is off tomorrow...my arms could use a break! Landon is now eating sweet potatoes. Kevin and I spent an evening last week peeling, steaming, pureeing, and freezing different foods for Landon. It took us about two hours, but now we have a month's worth of bananas, apples, pears, and sweet potatoes for him. I am so glad that we took the time to make his baby food. It was so cheap and easy to do and now he won't have to eat commercial baby foods that are filled with preservatives. He loves to eat the bananas and sweet potatoes. Next week we will probably start him out on apples. I sure hope Landon does not become a picky eater.

Halloween Fun

The computer had been broken for a few weeks, but all is fixed now. We took Landon down to Keystone for a few days for Halloween and to visit with Kevin's parents. We carved pumpkins and took him trick-or-treating. Landon was a monkey and Tinkerbell was a banana...it was the cutest thing! We walked around Keystone and everyone loved him...how could you not?! Landon got us a lot of candy! We also ran in to some old friends which was nice and of course no visit to Keystone is complete without a trip to Johnny's! Last week Landon had his first tooth break through his gum line. He has not been as fussy as I was expecting him to be. It does not seem to bother him that much. He is also sitting up on his own, no longer balancing himself on his hands. He is getting so big and growing up too quickly. He'll be 6 months old in just two days! Landon has his 6 month check up next week so I will be posting new updates then.

Family Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

We took Landon to the pumpkin patch today to pick out his first pumpkin. Of course it was more for our enjoyment, he had no idea what was going on. The weather was nice and cool so we were able to get a number of good pictures. It took forever to pick out the perfect pumpkin. I never realized how difficult it was to find THE perfect pumpkin. We finally picked two, a large one for carving and then a Landon sized pumpkin for his Halloween pictures. I can not wait for Halloween. Landon is going to be dressed as a monkey...he is going to be the cutest little monkey.

Welcome to Landon's World!

Landon at 5 months

Kevin and I aren't very good at e-mailing or calling people so I started this blog so all of those out of town are able to stay updated on Landon. Landon is now 5 months old and growing like a weed. He is almost 20 pounds and is 27 inches long! He has hit many milestones this month including rolling over and eating rice cereal. Landon is constantly smiling and laughing and loves to be held. We are enjoying every moment with him because we know that these moments won't last for long.
