Our Little Monkey is walking!

Landon is now walking. He took his first steps a little over 2 weeks ago and he has progressively gotten better. Landon can now stand himself up from a sitting position and take off walking. It's so cute watching him walk. He gets so excited and is so proud of himself whenever he walks. The only drawback to having Landon walking is all of the cuts and bruises. We took a walk outside today and he tried "running" after Tinkerbell and tripped. He landed face first onto the sidewalk and scraped up his chin and knee. It was Landon's first real injury and I am not looking forward to him having any more. I would rather Landon crawl for the rest of his life over seeing him falling like that again.

Here is a video of Landon's 1st steps. I'm sorry that it is sideways. I have no clue how that happened. I have more footage of him actually walking quite a bit, but it's on the camcorder and we still haven't bought the cord needed to hook the camcorder up to the computer. One of these days we will so that everyone can enjoy more videos of our Little Landon.

Landon amazes me daily with everything that he is learning. He now knows how his ball popper toy works and is able to place the balls into it. He also likes to place other items down into it, such as the car keys and pens! If we are ever missing anything I know to check the ball popper first!

Landon loves playing with Tink. Here is a pic of him playing tug of war with her!

Landon so proud of himself for standing up!

Landon's rocking chair is now complete and it turned out really cute- thanks Mom! My Mom made a chair pad for it out of Winnie the Pooh fabric that we picked out and Landon loves it. The only problem is that he also loves standing up in his rocking chair and rocking it while standing in it. I have a feeling that he will be needing stitches before his second birthday!

Happy Birthday to Me!

I had a great birthday yesterday. Landon couldn't wait to celebrate my birthday because he woke up just before 6:00 a.m. He thought my wish to sleep in was overrated! When I came out to the living room to feed Landon there was a video waiting for me to play on the computer. Kevin had made me the sweetest video chronicling our lives over the past decade. Unfortunately, I am unable to upload it to Blogger. Kevin should be fixing that soon so that I can share it with everyone. After spending the morning with Landon, my mom took us out to lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.
My yummy b-day cheesecake!
We had a great time at lunch and Landon loved crawling across the table. After lunch we then made our way over to Jo-Ann Fabrics to pick up some fabric to make a chair cushion for Landon's rocking chair. I also picked up a couple of patterns to make some tops and summer dresses...now I just need a sewing machine! When we arrived back home Kevin had dinner already made and waiting for me. I was so stuffed by the end of the evening that it felt like Thanksgiving. All in all my birthday was a nice and relaxing day. I couldn't ask for a better day then to spend it with my two guys-and Tinkie too!

Learning and Growing

The past couple of days have been very low key. On Saturday we took Landon to the park to ride his bike.

After the park we went to celebrate another little boy's 1st birthday. Landon was very hesitant to interact with the other one year olds, but by the time we were getting ready to leave he started warming up a bit more. I'm hoping to take him on more play dates so that he learns how to interact with other babies. On Sunday my Mom made dinner and cake for Kevin since his birthday was on Friday. Today and yesterday has just been spent cooped up in the house because of all of the rain. We haven't been on a walk in days. I can't wait for this rain to pass through. We are ready for some fresh air. Landon is now standing pretty well on his own. He let go of the dvd tower earlier this morning to dance around to his music for about 3 minutes. He also can now climb up onto the couch and he's figured out how to drop his balls into the ball popper. Landon has also learned how to give us items when we ask for them and how to roll and throw a ball to us. He's learning things so quickly. Landon is also getting several more teeth at one time. He's been extra fussy lately, but who can blame him? Tooth #8 popped through on his birthday and is still making it's way through and today #9 popped through. He has 3 more teeth getting ready to pop through as well. His poor gums are so swollen and he will now bring me the orajel when he needs it.

I've had to push Landon around indoors on his bike because of all of the rain. He wants to ride it so desperately that he has resorted to climbing into it on his own!

Happy 26th Birthday Kevin!

Today is Kevin's birthday and he got an extra special gift today- Landon took his first two steps on his own today! Landon hasn't done it since and it happened too quickly to have gotten it on camera so we will be working with him on his walking tomorrow to see if we can capture it on camera. Kevin's birthday has been very low key. We spent a portion of the afternoon out at the pool and that is all that we have done today. I made chicken fajitas for dinner because Kevin really likes those and then I made cupcakes for dessert. I made chocolate cupcakes with peanut butter frosting and topped them with a Reeses cup! They are amazingly delicious. Hopefully I will have some pictures of Landon walking on his own up tomorrow! Happy 26th Birthday Kevin- we love you!

Landon's 12 Month Check-up

Landon had his 12 month check up today. He is now 31 1/2 inches and 22 pounds! He has grown so much. He could only receive two of the scheduled shots because one of the shots contains egg, which he is allergic to. We have an appointment set up for an allergist next month and they will administer the other shot. That way if Landon does react to the shot then they will be able to treat him right there at the office. Landon also had to get blood work done today. I had to hold him in the chair while they took his blood...not my idea of a good time. I faint at the site of needles so holding him in the chair made me so incredibly sick, but we both made it through. Landon just recently discovered that I keep a can of snacks in his diaper bag. Last night he was sitting in his room with the opened can between his legs and an apple wheel in each hand! As I am typing here he just dumped his entire diaper bag over to get to them again. Instead of cleaning up the mess I grab the camera to catch him in the act!

Happy Mother's Day!

So I'm a little behind on blogging. I'm still recovering from the weekend. We had so much fun, but now I am drained! Getting online to blog was the last thing that I wanted to do. This Mother's Day was a lot of fun. Last Mother's Day I just had Landon and could barely move off of the couch. Kevin also had to work that day so I spent the day home alone with Landon and in lots of pain. This Mother's Day was so much better than last year. I felt like I earned the privilege to celebrate. Last year I was still adjusting to being a new Mommy, but this year it was a celebration of surviving the first year of Motherhood. We started the day off by going out to breakfast. Both my family and Kevin's family met up at Golden Corral and then we went back home to relax by the pool. It was really nice to be able to just sit around and relax with everyone.

Landon's 1st Birthday Party!

This past Saturday was Landon's 1st Birthday party. We had it at a local park that Landon loves going to and it turned out to be a lot of fun. Landon had a good turn out at his party and he received lots of gifts. Thanks to everyone that came out to make Landon's day extra special. Landon really enjoyed himself. Especially with the cake. My mom made Landon the cutest cake. He made such a mess eating it, but had lots of fun doing it! The poor baby got a lot of icing up his nose and was sneezing it out all afternoon. He didn't actually eat the cake part, just the icing so there were no allergy concerns. I'm so glad that I allowed him to dig into his cake...it made for some really good pictures. Landon also enjoyed opening up all of his gifts and he currently has them all over the living room. He loves playing with everything.

A Look Back

Landon turning one has made me very reminiscent. I can't get enough of looking through all of his baby pictures. I am posting pictures of Landon from throughout the year so everyone can see how much he has changed and grown. Of course Landon's 1 year pictures are posted on the previous post. Here are pictures of Landon from day one to 11 months old. Enjoy!
