Pumpkin Patch 2009

The other night we took Landon to a pumpkin patch. We took him to the same one that we went to last year. It just amazed me how much Landon has grown and changed. Especially when I saw him on the same props as last year and compared the pictures. Unfortunately, Landon wanted nothing to do with pictures this year. He was too excited to stop for a single moment for a good picture. He had a blast at the pumpkin patch. He especially loved the wagon ride and a rocking horse that they had there.

Amazed by how big the pumpkin is

Trying to pick up the pumkin
Landon would never try to push a wagon filled with pumpkins and break the wheel. Nope, not my boy!
Landon loved the pumpkin carriage

Riding on the tractor
Landon even picked out his own little pumpkin.
He couldn't wait to show it to me!
I carved Landon's pumpkin last night. Of course, it is a Winnie the Pooh pumpkin. It was hard to carve with a little one pulling at my arms and legs the whole time, but overall I think that it turned out pretty well. My mom is carving a Tigger pumpkin for Landon today. I can't wait to see how that one turns out. Later on this evening we will be taking our own Tigger out trick-or-treating. I will make sure to get those pictures up as soon as possible. Happy Halloween!

Swine Flu and Phases

This past month has been crazy. We have had a bunch of things going on- one of which being the swine flu. Landon's cold turned out to be the flu and everyone wound up with it. Luckily, the swine flu wasn't the death sentence that people were making it out to be. We all got through it and are completely recovered....it only took several weeks. Landon's nose is still slightly congested, but it is nothing that saline drops can't fix.

Landon is still growing like a weed and keeping me on my toes. He has become quite the picky eater this past month. He won't eat any meat or veggies. Landon has never been a picky eater and has always loved his veggies, but lately I can't get him to eat anything other than rice and potatoes. Dinner time has become quite the battle between him and I. He will continuously spit out all of his food with each bite that I give him. I hope this is just a phase and a short lived one at that. I don't know how much more of this I can take. He is also waking up throughout the night several times. These days, Landon's nighttime sleeping habits are that of a newborn. He goes down in between 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm, but awakes every 1 1/2 to 2 hours ALL night long. I'm beginning to wonder if it has to do with the fact that he does not eat dinner and is hungry because he does insist on nursing with every awakening. This is another phase that I hope will be passing real soon. Landon has finally started to drink soy milk. I had never tried it before, but I have found it to be rather tasty. I hate regular milk and can't remember the last time that I actually drank milk, but I love soy milk. I wish I would have tried it sooner. Landon loves the vanilla flavored soy milk best. Any time that Landon wants to nurse throughout the day I have been trying to give him a cup of milk first. It works at times, but other times he outright refuses to have the soy milk as a substitute. I guess he will wean when he is good and ready.

I can't believe how quickly the holidays are approaching. We still have not gotten a pumpkin for Landon. Halloween has just snuck up on me. We will be going to the pumpkin patch tonight so make sure to check back to see the photos.

Just being Landon

While I work on another post, I wanted to share this picture with everyone. It captures Landon's personality to a T. Landon is such a fun-loving, energetic, comical little boy. He is always laughing and making us laugh. Landon has so much joy in his heart and it is continuously shining through. This is a typical Landon moment of him walking along just being his silly self.

Fall Colds

I guess with the cooler fall weather comes colds. Landon is a very healthy baby. He has only ever been sick once before and that was just a 24 hour stomach flu. For the past two days the little guy has been battling a cold. He has had a slight fever, runny nose, cough, and has been constantly sneezing. I think Landon will be just like his Daddy and sleep off all of his sicknesses. Yesterday he napped every hour for about 20 minutes. He never napped for more than a 20 minute period, but like clock work he was back out again within an hour of waking back up. Unfortunately, that sleeping routine continued ALL night long. Needless to say it was a very long night for me. He finally went down for a nap today and has been napping for half an hour now so I am hoping that he gets a good nap in since he has been up since about 3:00 a.m.

Landon still has a slight fever, but it has been staying around 100.2 degrees. I'm glad that it is not getting any higher, because he was just miserable yesterday. His fever yesterday kept ranging from 101 degrees to 103.4 degrees. His whole body was incredibly hot all day long yesterday. He seems to be feeling a lot better today, but I can tell that he still isn't feeling right. All he wants to do is cuddle and nurse. He screams if I put him down or leave the room. He still won't eat any food or drink anything, but he does seem to be improving. I can't wait until Landon is back to his old self. I miss his smiling face and rough housing. I also can't wait to be able to spend our days back outside like we have been able to do so much of lately:

Welcoming Fall!

The weather has been amazing these past couple of days. Landon and I have been enjoying most of our days outside. I hate to waste such cool and breezy days indoors. The weather has been such a nice change since it had been soooo hot for far too long. Seeing how we live in Florida, I am sure it will be back up to 90 degrees shortly so we are taking full advantage of these cool days. This morning I took Landon and Tink for a walk and we wound up at the tennis court. I closed the gate to the court so that Landon and Tink could run around freely. We spent over an hour outside playing with a ball, blowing bubbles, and chasing one another around. We would have been longer, but Landon managed to get his foot stuck underneath the fence so I took him back inside so I could check him over properly. Once I made sure that his foot was ok he fell asleep. I must have tired him out. Him and Tink are both currently napping on the bed. I plan to spend the rest of the afternoon outside once Landon awakes from his nap. I am even contemplating a picnic lunch. The weather is perfect for one. I just don't know if Landon's behavior would be perfect for a picnic! I am envisioning Landon eating more dirt than his sandwich....we shall see.

The face of a boy who decided to suck on the bubble wand! Even Tinkie got in on the bubble fun!Typical Landon- getting himself caught on the net.
