I've been a bit of a blog slacker lately, but with good reason. Landon and I have both been sick. I don't mind if I am sick, but I hate seeing Landon sick. When he is sick I have a bad habit of watching over him 24/7. Even when he is napping I can be found reading next to him just so I can make sure that he is breathing ok. I haven't even gone near the computer in a weeks time because I can't seem to pry myself away from Landon when he is not feeling well, even when he is sleeping. I have also been in bed right along with him by 8:00 p.m. most nights this past week. I usually do most of my computer time when Landon is in bed for the night. With me not feeling well and having to take care of Landon I have been even more tired than usual. Landon and I have fallen asleep more then once this week while the sun was still out and did not wake again until sunrise. I am glad to report that Landon is feeling much better today. He battled an eye infection, ear infection, fever, cough, runny nose, sore throat, and upset stomach for the majority of last week. Since Landon had an eye infection I have been having to give him eye drops. When the doctor told me that I would have to sit on his head to administer the drops I thought that he was joking. It turns out that I have to do just that. It is near impossible to get these eye drops into Landon. On top of it I am expected to give him 2 drops in each eye 4 times a day for 5 days! It is by far one of the most horrific things that I have had to do to Landon. He is screaming and rolling around as I am practically sitting on top of him with my legs over him to prevent him from moving. I feel so bad for having to cause Landon such pain, but it is worth it in the end. After just one day of the eye drops his eyes cleared up. He no longer had gobs of goo coming out of his eyes. I still have to continue the drops, but only for 2 more days. Luckily, Landon loves the taste of medicine. No matter what medicine we give him he cries afterwards because he wants more. He absolutely loves his antibiotics so at least that part of the medicine dosing is going smoothly.
Since we have been sick we have been spending a lot of time indoors. Landon has been coloring every day this past week. He has become quite the little artist. Just take a look at his pieces of art:
started looking around your site after the DVD case one...and thought I'd give you a pointer on eye drops. With 4 kids we tend to get pink eye EVERY time we travel. Even though it says not to...to give the drops to the kids we have them close their eyes tight and put the drop in the corner of their eye...then we say blink blink blink really fast while we all blink really fast to get the drop spread around...works just as great as putting it directly in the eye and there is no fighting involved. They get better just as fast as the other way too. I'm sure there is a reason for NOT putting it in like that(germs or contamination or something) but I'd rather get the medicine in and get it over with.
