I Don't Know!

I last posted Landon's most recent phrase, which is "I love you". There is another phrase that Landon has been saying for a couple of weeks now that continually makes us laugh. When we ask Landon why he did something he responds with an "I don't know". The way he says it is just too cute. We constantly find ourselves asking Landon questions to purposely get him to say "I don't know". You can see for yourself just why we do such a thing:

Now isn't that the cutest "I don't know" that you have ever heard?! The cuteness factor also gets upped when he's in his Buzz towel. Landon loves his Buzz Lightyear towel. He loves it so much that I am contemplating buying him the Woody towel the next time I go to the store. He wears it for hours after his bath. He even insisted on blowing bubbles in it yesterday evening. Landon also learned how to actually blow the bubbles off of the wand yesterday as well.
When he realized that he was able to blow the bubbles onto my leg he couldn't stop laughing.

Birthday Take Two!

I finally received Landon's birthday pictures that were taken by someone at his party. I will share a few with everyone.

I Love You!

Just when I thought the most precious words out of Landon's mouth were "Mommy" and "Daddy" we were proven wrong. Landon is now saying "I love you". Hearing those words out of his mouth brings tears to my eyes. I'm pretty sure even Kevin teared up when Landon said I love you to him for the first time. I know my crying over Landon is nothing new, but he really does melt my heart when he says those sweet words. I got a short snippet of it on video. It's not very clear, but sound is all you need.

Cloud Shapes

When was the last time you looked up at the clouds? Until the other day I couldn't answer that question. I couldn't remember the last time I looked up at the sky in awe. The way we did as children making shapes out of the clouds The other evening we took Landon to Chuck E Cheese. When we walked outside I noticed a rainbow in the sky. I couldn't remember the last time that I had seen a rainbow or even when I last looked up at the sky for the heck of it. The rainbow was visible the whole drive home and Landon loved looking for it. When we got out of the car I asked him if he could see the rainbow. He said, "no, die-does (dinosaur)." I looked up and asked him where the dinosaur was. He pointed to the clouds and said up. It then hit me that he was making shapes out of the clouds. We stood outside for several minutes, through the light rain and all just enjoying watching the clouds. It's funny how a two year old can teach an adult to relax a little more and enjoy the little things in life. Ever since that day Landon now points out other animals in the sky. So far he has seen a lion, a tiger, a hippo, a giraffe, a panda bear, and pretty much any other animal there is. He even said one was Happy (Jenn's bird). Growing up we always hear that we should listen to our elders because they are wiser. I don't think children get enough credit. Through the eyes of a child you can learn life's true meaning. Children teach you patience, love, and understanding for the world in which we live. I know I for one have learned far more in these past two years with Landon than I have in all of my 27 years. Or maybe I am just re-learning what I already knew and have been too caught up in life to apply them. Either way, I am going to be looking at the clouds more often and admiring the world in which we live.

Not My Child! Monday!

Mckmama- Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Landon most definitely did not sign to me that he was all done on the potty seat only to then poop on the floor. Nope, not my child! My well mannered child knows better than to tell me that he is all done with the potty seat and would never poop on the floor as I am getting him a new diaper. Even if he had, he most certainly would not be so proud of this feat that he had to pull my hand and walk me over to it to show me while flashing me his biggest smile saying "poopie"! Nope, not my child!

Landon did not open the fridge and pull out the barbecue sauce. Even if he had managed to get out the barbecue sauce he most certainly would never unscrew the cap and finger paint Tinkerbell with the sauce. Nope, not my child! He would never find a way to cause so much trouble in the two seconds that it takes me to go to the bathroom. I guess I was asking for it when I decided to actually shut the bathroom door behind me.

Landon would never become bored with his toys and insist on playing with my sunglasses. Even if he did decide to play with my sunglasses, he would never break yet another pair of my sunglasses. Landon would never find it funny to break my back up pair of sunglasses (he broke my main pair two weeks ago) leaving me with none. Nope, not my child!

This post would never cause a discussion on the proper spelling of poopie! We would never discuss such issues as to whether it is "poopy" or "poopie". Nope, not us! Such a disgusting topic would never be prime time discussion in this house.

M-I-C-K-E-Y-M-O-U-S-E!

We went to see Mickey Mouse this past weekend. We had such a great time. Every morning started with a pillow fight and every evening ended with a pinching turned tickle session. We stayed at the Wilderness Lodge and all I can say is WOW! The hotel was amazing, the room was amazing, the food was amazing (even room service a few minutes before closing which resulted in them stealing our room service menu and never giving it back!) We even loved the over priced water that was all part of the "magical experience"! I know these stories won't be funny to most, but they sure did give us plenty of good laughs and memories.

While in Disney we were able to hit The Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. Landon had so much fun. He was smiling from ear to ear all weekend long. So much fun was had by all that we even stayed an extra night and hung out at the pool the last day. As I mentioned before, the hotel was amazing. Here is the very first picture that we took in Disney World. Kevin and I joked that the guy who took the picture was hired for that sole purpose alone. He would stand by this totem pole and take every one's pictures throughout the day.
There were also towel animals made up in the room everyday.
The bathroom also had this look through into the bedroom. I thought it was the cutest thing so I took a picture of it. Somehow we never took anymore pictures of the room. The hotel is also the place where Landon peed on the toilet for the very first time! Landon too got caught up in the magical experience!!
The first day at The Magic Kingdom was the hottest of all of the days. Landon spent a good portion of our time there at the play area.
Across from the play area was Mickey's house. Landon kept hiding from the camera when we tried to take his picture. We always had this result:
For whatever reason Landon loved Mickey's kitchen and didn't want to leave that area. I think it was the little Mickey shaped hole that he could look through.

The Animal Kingdom was really nice. We had never been there before. The best part was that it was shaded. There were trees everywhere, which helped with the heat. I think the best part of the trip was the Lion King show there. Kevin and I both agreed that the show was the best attraction at the parks. Landon loved the show, but was so incredibly tired that he fell asleep at the end of it while standing. The pictured didn't really turn out during the show, but here are two of them.
We also came across Mickey and Goofy while there. Landon ran straight up to them and gave them hugs. He didn't want to let go of them.
Here are some other pictures from the Animal Kingdom.
Landon received a Tigger hat at the Animal Kingdom as well. He loves his Tigger hat. However, on the ferry ride over to the Magic Kingdom Landon thought it would be funny to make his hat swim. He through his hat out of the window of the ferry boat into the lake before we could stop him. Luckily the ferry driver was able to fish it out for us and we were able to take a very stinky hat home and clean it off for him.
During our time in Disney it rained off and on. The rain never lasted for long, but it did require ponchos on the last day. Here are Landon and I waiting in line in our ponchos!
No visit to Disney is complete without a stop at Downtown Disney for a picture on the Pooh bench. The last time we were there Kevin and I took a picture together. This time we were able to take pictures with our Landon love!
In preparation for our Disney trip Landon went around in his Halloween costume from last year for two days! He refused to take it off.

Tiecow Eat!

Here is another cute Landon story. Today I gave Landon a chicken patty with ketchup for lunch. He says, "Mommy, tiecow (tiger) eat" and is pointing to his shirt. I look at him and see that the tiger on his shirt is covered in ketchup. Apparently his tiger got hungry!

Splish Splash!

After an afternoon rain shower we can usually be found jumping in the puddles. I always time it to where we go out about half an hour before Landon's bath time. Landon loves to jump in the puddles. He says "pool" for puddles. In fact he calls every body of water a pool, even the ocean.  Landon even got Tink in on the puddle fun.
To get the most out of his jumps Landon would run as fast as he could to the end of the puddles and back again.
Puddle jumping reminds me that the greatest joys in life come from the simplest pleasures. The world would be a much better place if everyone took a minute out of their day to jump in a puddle and remember the simpler days of childhood.
