Knight Landon

My knight in shining armor....

This knight set is yet another reason why I love the Dollar Tree! All three pieces were found there. I love being able to tell Landon to pick out anything that he wants without having to worry about breaking the bank! Landon has been going around like this for almost a week now. At least his pirate costume is getting a break.

Fall Wreath

I was inspired by my friend Jessica to make a fall wreath. I love wreaths and fall so I couldn't wait to get started on this craft. I found some leaf garlands at the dollar store. I also came across the wicker wreath at the dollar store as well. For $3 I have a simple wreath. It only took about 20 minutes to make and I love it. The pumpkins and other little accessories on it were also part of the two strands of garland. I just cut the leaves off. I even have some extra leaves for some craft fun for Landon. I still have to tie a string to it to hang it properly on a wreath hanger. The dollar store wreath wasn't thick enough so the hanger part comes over the wreath itself. I just hung it on a nail on the inside part of my house for a quick picture.

Singin' in the Rain

I'm singin' in the rain
Just singin' in the rain
What a glorious feelin'
I'm happy again.
It was raining the other day, but Landon insisted on going outside. He was having so much fun in the rain that I couldn't tell him no. At least he thought ahead and took an umbrella out with him!

You Make Me Smile

You make me dance like a fool
Forget how to breathe
Shine like gold, buzz like a bee
Just the thought of you can drive me wild
Ohh, you make me smile

This boy sure can make me smile!

"Smile" by Uncle Kracker is the one song that Landon and I can sing and dance to over and over again without tiring of it. As I type this I can picture Landon singing the word "you" while pointing at me and smiling! We sure do love dancing like fools to this song!

*To hear the video you will have to pause the music player down on the bottom right of the page. I haven't been able to disable the auto start feature on the music player. One of these days I'll remember my log in information to change the way the music plays. Until then you'll just have to hit pause!

Squirrel!

You've gotta love the attention span of three year olds. Landon was riding his bike today and stopped once he saw a squirrel. He got off of his bike to chase the squirrel. He kept doing this every single time he saw a squirrel. This occurred numerous times since we were at a park with a number of trees. All I could do was laugh. It reminded me of that clip from the movie "Up" where the dog would stop mid sentence when he saw a squirrel.

Landon's 1st Bike!

Landon is growing up quickly. He's now peddling away from us! Landon has a brand new big boy bike.

We kept telling Landon that if he was on his best behavior throughout the stores, then we would show him his surprise. After doing some Halloween browsing throughout several stores we were ready to give Landon his surprise. We took him to the store to pick out his bike. Buzz was his bike of choice. Kevin and I knew from the very beginning that Landon would be coming home with a Buzz bike so we scouted out a store that had it in stock.

Landon was having some trouble peddling at first, but once we properly inflated the tires he took off! I can't believe that his tricycle days are over with. Soon he'll be pulling out of the driveway in a real car instead of his Power Wheels car!
Landon was helping Daddy assemble the front tire while Mommy was assembling the most important parts...the decorations!

Landon is obsessed with Toy Story. It also looks like Woody will be his Halloween costume choice. I tried showing him some other options, but Landon was adamant about being Woody. So it looks like we'll have a little cowboy for Halloween. I was secretly hoping for a cutesie costume...a dinosaur, lion, something along those lines. I knew we had years of character costumes and was trying to persuade Landon into choosing a cutesie costume, but he was having none of it. He wants to be Woody and we can't change his mind!

Dance, Dance

Landon loves dancing and singing along to the radio. So much so that we have now made it a daily thing. Every morning while I'm cleaning the kitchen from breakfast I will turn on the radio. Landon comes in to join me and we dance and sing the morning/afternoon away. I'm so glad that Landon is only three and still believes that Mommy can sing like Whitney and dance like Britney! I'm sure I look and sound foolish. Especially as of lately since I've been able to have the windows open and turn off the air conditioning due to our unusually cool weather...our poor neighbors! I'll embarrass myself time and time again just to see my baby boy smile. Landon could seriously spend all day dancing with me. I forgot how much fun it could be to dance and sing like a fool. Landon allows me to find such joy in life's simplest things. Dancing to the radio with my Landon Love is definitely one of my daily highlights. It also reminds me when he was an infant. Around 10 a.m. every morning I would turn the radio on and sway back and forth while holding Landon. He would fall asleep within minutes. It was one of my favorite parts of my day back then. He'll even allow me to sway him just like I use to every now and then. He just doesn't fall asleep from it and he's much bigger these days! I encourage everyone to take a moment out of your day to turn on the radio and dance like a fool with your little ones. It really does make for enjoyable moments and lasting memories.

Two Again

Dinner time is always an interesting time. I never know what Landon is going to say or do come dinner time. The other night was no exception. I put Landon's plate down in front of him and he wasn't thrilled. I made baked chicken tenders, potatoes, and carrots with sugar and cinnamon. I refuse to make dinner time into a battle in regards to Landon eating his food. I do, however, try encouraging him to at least take one bite of everything. Landon eventually licked all of the sugar off of the carrots, but refused to actually take a bite of them. When I asked him to take a little bite his response gave me quite the laugh. Landon folded his arms to his chest and said, "I don't want to take little bite. I want to be two again." I guess two year olds aren't made to eat their carrots!

Later on that same night we did our normal bed time routine. Landon picked out three books and I read them to him. I then told him "I love you, goodnight". He responded with a little grunt and said "loves you too, but I don't like you!" My precious little three year old told me that he didn't like me because he had to go to bed. At least he still loves me!
