Fall 2013

Once again we made our way to the same pumpkin patch that we've been going to year after year. I love seeing Landon in front of the same props that he took photos with in years past.
Landon decided to be a vampire this year for Halloween. He originally wanted to be Michaelangelo, but he thought the mask looked fake. When he saw the vampire costume he liked the dressy, ruffled shirt. So a vampire he was. He made one cute vampire.
 Landon's vampire face!

I loved the sunset in the background.
Another one of his vampire faces!
One house had a dance area set up. Kids were to dance for the candy. No kids were participating, but Landon loves to dance and stepped right up to the challenge. His friend even joined in with him. They won a dollar along with the candy!
Landon requested a vampire and bat pumpkin so I couldn't disappoint!

Kindergarten

Landon has been in kindergarten for three months now. He's adjusted well to a full day school schedule. He's excelling in class, especially when it comes to reading. His received all "Es" on his first report card and even received a good citizen award for displaying outstanding conduct.

We couldn't be prouder of him. I'll share a few of his first day of school pictures.
The sign didn't help. I held my composure until we dropped Landon off, but once I said "bye" to him at the classroom door I lost it. Landon could not wait for the school day to begin. He took off ahead of us.

Landon's school theme this year is super heroes and his classroom theme is Batman. Talk about the perfect setting for our Landon Love!

Our neighbor/friend was deployed to Afghanistan. Landon looks up to him and now wants to be an "army guy" just like Mr. Jason.
I think Landon's favorite day of the school year so far was "Crazy Hair Day". He still asks us to dye his hair green. He sported a green mohawk that day. I must admit, he was rather cute with it!
I'm excited to see how much he'll learn and grow over this school year. My baby boy is growing up. I'm not at all happy about it, but I love seeing the boy that he's becoming. Mommy and Daddy are very proud of you Landon Love. Keep up the good work!

Grand Plans

I had these grand plans of writing several in detail catch up posts. That clearly isn't happening any time soon. Until then, I'll just catch everyone up on what's been going on around here as of lately. Landon graduated pre-school and will be starting kindergarten in about a week. Where has the time gone?
The first weekend of summer (two days after school ended) Kevin and I took Landon to Hannah Park for what was supposed to be the start of an amazing, fun-filled summer. We started the morning off with several relaxing hours at the beach.
We then moved on to the park for Landon to have some more fun. Our Sunday Funday turned into an emergency trip to the hospital and Landon coming home with his first broken bone. He broke both bones in his arm right at his wrist.
So far he's had two surgeries on it to try to repair the damage. The second surgery was just last week. He's also on cast number 5 with probably two more to go. His summer is not only shot, but because of the amount of damage done to his arm he'll be starting kindergarten with a cast on his arm. He also has to miss out on the current soccer season as well. Kevin and I are trying our best to keep him from using his arm. Cast or no cast, Landon is still Landon. He's still doing his crazy, dare devil stunts. He is still managing to make the most of his summer and has been rather easy going with all of the doctor appointments and limitations with his arm so far.

We're hopeful that this was the last surgery. We have a post-op appointment coming up and we'll know more then. In the midst of all of the hospital visits, Landon had another milestone occur. He lost his very first tooth! A second tooth is now loose so it too should fall out shortly. He's growing up too fast!

Feb-March Picture Recap

Wow! Almost 6 months since my last post. It's been a crazy 6 months, that's for sure. So much has happened. There's no way I can catch up on every last detail, but I'll start with February and March.

February brought Valentine's Day and Landon's first school dance. Kevin and I were a bit hesitant about the whole thing. We didn't like the idea of the teachers calling it a dance. The whole thing made me slightly uncomfortable. I mean they are four, not fourteen. In the end, it was cute and harmless. Landon had a lot of fun picking out his outfit and he looked so incredibly handsome in it.

To celebrate Valentine's Day itself, I invited a friend and her son (Landon's best friend) over for a little party. We made pizza with heart shaped pepperoni and a heart shaped cake. The boys had so much fun.

Landon's class had a teddy bear that each student was able to take home for one weekend over the school year. The end of February was Landon's turn. We took Teddy to Monster Jam, Superhero night at Chick-fil-a and the beach. Teddy was one well traveled bear that weekend.

The month of March brought on even more fun. My friend and I have been wanting to take the boys to Orlando to eat at T-Rex cafe and we finally did it. The boys were even able to build their own dinos before dinner. They had a blast.

Landon posing with a Lego Hulk.
Landon in yet another hat of his for a day of IKEA fun!

We finished March off with Easter. I found an egg decorating kit that Landon absolutely loved putting together. It kept him busy for almost two hours.
Posing with more Easter eggs.
Mommy and Landon on Easter Day.
Landon was so excited when he saw this gummy bunny. We're still keeping our fingers crossed that one day he'll be able to enjoy a milk chocolate bunny.
That was a quick picture recap of the first of the year. I'll have a post up soon from Landon's 5th birthday and his pre-school graduation.
