1st birthday coming up soon

well alot has happened the last year or so and i always thought it would be cool to have a kid but don't think i ever imagined it would be this great. as Amanda has mention Landon is full of so much energy, smiles, and laughter that at times it seems over whelming, but then he lays one of those big smiles or laughs and even a little booty shake when he hears a song on the radio he likes and the feeling of exhaustion disappears.

as you can see Amanda has started planning his party, she's all concerned about decorations and this and that.... all i want to know is what kind of food we having and where's the cake?!?! jk, i've thrown in an opinion or two here and there, but ultimately we could have have silly string all over the place w/ one balloon as long as Landon is happy i'm good.

i started my "old" new job back...if that makes any sense, ultimately i'm much closer to home so i can come home for lunch to see Amanda and Landon and most days i'm off by 5, so i won't be missing as much as i did when i was working 11 hour days fri, sat, sun, mon. Amanda thought since was i home for a couple days until the new job started that Landon would have a hard time adjusting...but he's still attached to his momma's hip. he could be screaming his lungs out and he'll go to Amanda's arms and bam, he's all smiles. not that i can blame him, his momma is one bad @$$ chick. aight...well i've said my peace. the baby is doing great, he's crawling at light speed and now he's walking w/ his toy even quicker. all under the ADULT supervision of Tink of course. i swear i think at times Landon has three parents, Amanda, me and Tink. very funny stuff.. any how. enjoy the pictures and videos of the baby he's too cool to drool. :oP

Party Ideas

I am having the hardest time trying to find decorations for Landon's birthday. I can't ever find anything that I really like. I was looking for a monkey set, but nothing is just right. I came across a Little Prince 1st birthday set last night and would like opinions on it. Leave a comment on whether you think it suits Landon or not. If we went with this set, then Party City has banners and table decorations that I could use. I would have to mix and match, but there is a picture of those below as well. I think it would all tie in together. BabiesRUs carries a 1st birthday crown that we will get him as well.

Videos of Landon

Landon has a walking toy that he loves to use to walk around the house. One evening Kevin and I were sitting on the couch and Landon was playing with his toys, then all of a sudden we see Landon walking across the living room with his walking toy. It was the cutest thing. We both sat there in such awe that he was actually walking with it. I finally got a video of him walking with it. For some reason he loves falling down while walking. He purposely does it every now and then and laughs hysterically when he falls. Landon is growing up so quickly.

Landon also loves bouncing on the couch and here is a short video of him doing so. He was bouncing on the couch while talking to Tinkerbell for several minutes, but as soon as I started recording him he stopped. You can still see a few moments of his bouncing on the video.

Silly Landon

Landon has become quite the ham lately. He is always laughing and loves making us laugh. Landon can make some of the silliest faces and loves getting laughs from them. Here are several pictures of his goofy faces.

We headed down to Keystone today and Landon enjoyed staring at himself in the wall mirror. He loves himself so much that he even kissed his reflection! I'm contemplating getting a floor length mirror to entertain him for a few hours!

Breezy, Lazy Days

The weather has been amazing lately. I hate being cooped up in the house when the weather is so nice. Landon, Tink, and I go for many walks throughout the day and love the outdoors. The other day Kevin and I took Landon's bouncer outside and he jumped in that while we caught up on some reading. It was such an enjoyable afternoon. We also went to the park where Landon had a ton of fun. Kevin, Matt, and Alex played football and Landon loved watching them. He also loved playing with the football. He will be the next McNabb. I even let my guard down and allowed Landon to crawl on the grass. Everyone who knows me knows how much I hate dirt and have never allowed Landon to get dirty. I left him get down on the ground and play football with the big boys and he had a blast. I am hoping for many more of these cool, breezy days.

Too high Daddy!
Even Tink enjoyed the swings!

Valentine's Day

We spents Valentine's Day relaxing around the house for the most part. Kevin made me breakfast and we just relaxed together for most of the morning. Late in the afternoon we met up with Kevin's parents and then headed to the mall for a few. We had to show off Landon in his Valentine's Day shirt. Of course I was totally cheesy and made all of us dress in red for the day...thankfully Kevin didn't oppose. Matt and Alex came over later on that evening and Matt ordered pizza for everyone once Landon went to bed. Once they left Kevin and I then pigged out on the Valentine's Day cake that I made.

Pampers Saves Lives

For all of you mommies out there with little ones in diapers I urge you to use Pampers diapers and wipes. Not only are they great diapers, Landon has been using them from day one, but when you purchase a package of Pampers they will donate 1 tetanus vaccine to those in need. Tetanus kills 128,000 babies annually. I have a hard time wrapping my head around that number. It's 128,000 too many. Especially since tetanus is easily prevented. These vaccines are distributed to the less industrialized areas of the world where they can not afford the $0.07 vaccines. 128,000 babies and an additional 30,000 mothers are killed over 7 cents. I just don't understand it. Here is a link of a video of Salma Hayek traveling to Africa to raise awareness of this cause. Check it out. The video is a little long, but well worth it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L_TXp-Tpkpc

The second half of this video is of Salma Hayek breastfeeding a starving baby. Breastfeeding is looked down upon in some parts of Africa because the men are under the assumption that they can not have sex with their wives if they are breastfeeding. Babies are starving because there is little food available, let alone proper formula. Babies are not getting adequate nutrition and are starving to death. I am 100% pro breastfeeding and completely against formula. There are very few reasons why a baby should ever be on formula and I hope more mothers become educated on the benefits of breastfeeding. I hope by posting this video I am able to bring much needed positive attention towards breastfeeding and more awareness to the tetanus crisis.

9 Months

Landon's 9th Month photo with Pooh

Landon is now 9 months old. I can't believe how quickly time is going by. In just 3 short months my baby will be one. Landon had his 9 month check up today and he is now 29 inches long and 21 pounds 7 ounces. We got the results back on Landon's allergy tests and he is allergic to wheat, eggs, milk, and yogurt. Hopefully he will outgrow all of those allergies by the time he is one. If not, it will become hard to find food for him to eat. Almost everything contains wheat...even the gerber puffs and teething biscuits that he enjoys. At his one year appointment we will be referred to an allergy specialist to see if Landon's allergies have cleared. We are all starting to get over this cold that Kevin so kindly brought home. Landon has a few more days worth of antibiotics to take, but he is doing a lot better. His fever and cough have both gone away. I still have some stuffiness, but that too is becoming bearable. Now all I have to do is catch up on the housework that has been piling up all week since I've been sick! Landon is steadily learning to walk as we hold his hands and he can now clap and shake his head no. He also learned how to take his pants off somehow. I went in to his room to get him from his nap and there he was, standing in his crib with no pants on! I just hope that he doesn't learn how to take his diaper off. I don't want to be the one cleaning that mess! Landon also loves to dance. He will bounce up and down and shake his head all around. Landon is still not sleeping through the night and as of lately does not want to take any naps. I hope he says "Mommy" soon because it will make this exhaustion completely worth it!! Kevin started his new job with Wachovia yesterday. He is now working Monday-Friday 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. He is home late, but has all morning to spend with Landon and I. What makes it even better is that it is right down the road. His new schedule will also allow me to catch some more sleep in the mornings after Landon's first feeding. It will help me out a lot since I am up throughout the night and up really early in the morning with Landon. Of course there are no promises that I will actually be able to nap in the mornings because Landon knows that I am in the bedroom and will crawl in there repeatedly until I give up and come out of the room. I still hold on to hope that there will be naps in my future!
