The Things He Says

Landon has been cracking me up lately. Here is just a snippet of what he has said this week:
Mommy, I love you like pigs love pies.
Thank you. I love you too.
You're welgum (welcome). Any time.

One night while he was in bed the following conversation occurred:
Mommy, I lost my yawn.
Your yawn?
Yes, my yawn. It went away.
What happens when you lose your yawn?
I can't sleep happens.

Landon was laying on the couch one afternoon and out of the blue he starts talking about bad attitudes:
I sure wish I could stop my bad attitude.
You don't have a bad attitude. You have a good attitude.
But I'm about to have a bad attitude.
We'll work on stopping it then.
But I don't know how.
Mommy will help you learn how.
Oh goody, goody.
And Landon?
Yes, Mommy?
Thank you for warning me about your upcoming bad attitude.
You're welgum (welcome).

Meal time is always an interesting time around here. I never know if Landon will eat or not. There are days when he eats non stop and other days where he will go with just eating one meal. I made him lunch this afternoon and asked him to come to the table to eat. He responded by saying, "Thank you, but no thanks." At least he was polite about it!

Landon Sayings

This week was another filled with cute Landon sayings. The cutest thing Landon said had to do with me not feeling well so he told me to take a nap. "Mommy you take nap. I play quiet with Tinkie in my room." I knew better though. Nothing good can ever come of a toddler playing quietly! At least his heart was in the right place!
Landon gave me a good laugh while we were reading books one evening. He had a concerned look on his face and said, "Mommy I can't hear my burping. Help! I can't hear it!" I'm not sure what he thought I could do about his problem. He even opened his mouth nice and wide for me to try to see his burps so that I could help his burps make sound again....only Landon!

We have also been playing a lot of hide and seek. It's one of Landon's favorite things to do. He doesn't quite understand the concept of hide and seek. He'll often say, "We play hide and seek. You count. I hide in closet." He always tells me where his hiding spot is going to be!

Out of the Mouths of Moms

As a Mom I am many things. I am a kiss giver, a hugger, a tear wiper, and a comforter. I am also a boo boo healer, a snot wiper, a sticky finger and grubby face washer, a boogyman chaser, a teacher, a nurse, and a chef.

Before I became a mom I knew that I would have to be all of these things. What I never imagined before becoming a mom was the things that I would have to say to a toddler. The things that come out of my mouth at times are hilarious. I would have never thought in a million years that I would have to ever say some of the things that I say now-a-days. Just this week I found myself telling Landon, "Stop picking my nose! Pick your own nose!" Landon tried to one up himself and continued to make me say unthinkable things the next day. He went to the bathroom and the following conversation ensued:

Landon: Look Mommy! Big poopie. Like hot dog. I taste it?
Me: No you can't taste it! That's gross.
Landon: Oh. Right. That is gross. That is a dirty hot dog
Me: Yes, Landon. That does look like a dirty hot dog and it would be gross to eat it.

Gotta love the things that come out of the mouths of moms of toddlers! I have to say so many off the wall things to Landon on a regular basis that I may just make this a weekly post. I think it would be a lot of fun to look back on these years later to see all of the silly things that Landon says or that I have to say to him during these next couple of years.
