Easter 2012

I hope everyone had as good of an Easter as we had. Our Easter weekend was a very busy one so it will be in a series of posts. I'll start with the Easter egg hunt that we went to at the zoo. It was our first time going to the one at the zoo. I think we found an egg hunt that we will be going to year after year. They did an amazing job at separating the age groups. Other places have tried and failed miserably. The older siblings are usually running into the egg area and trampling the younger ones. At the zoo they only allowed the child in that particular age group (for Landon it was 3 and under) and one parent on one side of the field. The other children and family members were to wait on the other side of the field where the rope remained up at all times. Landon finally did not get trampled on by an older child and he walked away smiling instead of crying. He even walked away with a prize winning egg! He won a stuffed monkey and he hung it up in his room as soon as we came home.
Waiting patiently for the egg hunt to begin.

He's been so brave this year with the Easter Bunny. We haven't had a single meltdown this year due to fear! Thankfully any Easter Bunny we've encountered has been without eye glasses. Landon says that he is scared of the ones with glasses.
His monkey that he won!
We also dyed some eggs on Friday. Landon wasn't as excited about this as I thought he would be. He was a good sport and did a few so that I could have my memory of us dyeing eggs together.
He came running to the table once I told him that the eggs had dried enough for him to put stickers on them!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter a few days late! Easter was very low key this year and I absolutely loved it. It was one of the best Easter's in a long time. We did absolutely nothing. I loved our laid back Easter. The Easter Bunny brought Landon a number of goodies. I think Landon's favorite gifts were his fishing pole and Super Why DVD. We also did an Easter egg hunt outside and Landon had a blast with it. We did an Easter egg hunt the day before Easter as well, but for once I found myself without a camera to capture it. It was a lot of fun though. There was the traditional egg hunt, but they also had a number of other activities. There were bounce houses, train rides, pony rides, a petting zoo, and carnival games. All of these things were geared towards toddlers so Landon had a blast. I did get a number of pictures Easter Day to make up for the lack of pictures of the egg hunt.

Dying Easter Eggs!

 Landon loves Super Why!

Landon also loved the candy bracelets.....
...until Mommy took them away! I didn't realize he made this face until I uploaded all of the photos later on that evening!
 Looking for Easter eggs

In true Landon fashion, he lined them all up to count them when he was done.
Landon found it challenging to resist the yummy Easter cake!
He kept saying that he didn't taste it, but his nose gave him away!

Not My Child! Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Landon did not fall down the stairs and let out a horrific cry causing me to think that he split his head open. When I ran to him he started pointing towards the ground which is when I realized the real reason for his crying- he dropped his Tigger in the fall. Landon would never cry more for his dropped Tigger then over his fall. Nope, not my Landon! My Landon would never scare me like that.

Landon did not go on an Easter egg hunt and walk away without any eggs. My Landon would never be so tired that he throws a tantrum during egg hunting and misses out on collecting eggs. Nope, not my Landon! Landon has more composure than that.

Landon did not require 3 outfit changes in one day. There was no possible way that my Landon would require 3 new outfits in one day because he couldn't keep clean. Nope, not my Landon! He would never get ketchup and poop all over himself three times in just a couple of hours.

Landon did not wake up the other morning wanting to eat a popsicle. Even if he had, Landon most certainly would not proceed to pull a laundry basket filled with folded laundry over to the fridge to use it as a stepping stool to get to the freezer. He most certainly did not do this after I told him that 7:00 a.m. was too early for popsicles. Nope, not my Landon!

Easter Party

We went down to Keystone today to spend some time with Kevin's parents. We attended an Easter party and Landon was able to meet the Easter Bunny. Landon even picked up a couple of Easter eggs during an Easter egg hunt. He is starting to walk a lot more. He is still needing support to walk, but he makes the initiative to walk to where he wants to go. He had me walking with him all over the place today. Landon really tired himself out. After the party he fell asleep as soon as he was buckled into his car seat and slept almost the whole way back home. Tomorrow will be another busy day because we will be taking Landon to the zoo for the first time.
