Blue Bubble Disaster

Dear Crayola,

We really do love your crayon products. However, you should have stopped while you were ahead. There was no need to branch out into the world of bubbles. Please stick to just crayon making. You would make mommies all over the world very happy. Your colored bubble launcher was a huge flop for us. I think it was the worst toy that Landon has ever received. If you saw the number of toys this child has accumulated over the past (almost) three years, then that is saying a lot. Your bubbles have left stains on my patio, on my grass, on my pants, and on my dog. I immediately took this product back to the store (after taking cute pictures of my messy toddler, of course!) and exchanged it for the Crayola 3-D chalk. A much better product! You want to know why that was? Because it was chalk, a lot like crayons. Please, I urge you to stop trying to branch out and stick to your traditional writing products. Thank you!

From,
A mommy now thinking she is living in the world of Smufs!

Bubblin' Around

The weather was near perfect today. It was one of those days where I didn't want to spend a single second indoors. We did almost everything outside today. We ate lunch and dinner outside, we read outside, we colored outside, and we did a whole lot of playing outside today. Once again Landon was able to choose his clothing. I was the first one outside this morning (raking up tree branches from the neighbor) and Landon asked to come out. When I told him yes he ran to get some pants and shoes. He came back with animal pajama bottoms and blue sneakers. What I love most is the fact that he really takes time to decide what he's going to wear. Whenever I go into his room I always see all of his dresser drawers wide open. He goes through every single drawer until he finds just what he wants to wear. So out he came to play in his pajama bottoms. At least he had bottoms on today!

Landon loves to help Mommy in the yard.
Slamdunk!
The majority of our days are spent playing with chalk and bubbles. Landon loves bubbles. We go through a lot of bubbles. We tend to go through one large container of bubbles a week.

I'm not really sure why, but Landon started to punch the bubbles and growl at them!

Vacuum the Grass?

On most days Landon is able to choose his clothing. He always picks a t-shirt of some sort. It's usually a Toy Story one or one with animals on it. When we're just staying home, then he even has his choice of bottoms. There's no surprise here- Landon's bottom choice is usually none. When he gets to choose his pants or shorts, then he usually says "no pants". So no pants it is when we are at home. He is also allowed to choose his own shoes on most days. Usually he chooses his Croc's. Some days he chooses his Toy Story shoes, but today he chose something completely different. He chose his Mickey Mouse slippers. The other week he even insisted on walking around in them and he received quite a few compliments on them from the neighbors, which I think prompted him to wear them more often! This is how he spent the afternoon:

"Vacuuming" the grass while wearing his Mickey slippers, a dinosaur t-shirt, and a Toy Story Pull-Up. If only his bubble mower would actually cut the grass!

Fall Festivities

I take Landon to Chick-fil-a every Tuesday night for kids' night. He always has a blast and he eats for free so it's a win/win for me. This past Tuesday they held a Fall Festival. There were all sorts of activities for the children. They had small pumpkins for every child, bubble blowing machines, music playing, horse rides, and free brownies! I thought Landon would be hesitant of the horses at first, but he loved them. Not only did we do the horse and carriage ride, but he also rode each of the saddled horses. Even the big one! We finished the night with a stroll around the Town Center. It really was an almost perfect evening.

I rode with Landon as well. I just got off to take the picture.
 Landon riding the pony!
Landon had so much fun on the pony that he wanted to ride the big horse as well. He was all smiles the whole time.

Now if I could only get Landon to stop saying "I want to go to...". This is how our conversations have been all day yesterday:
Landon: Mommy! Mommy! MomMY!
Me: Yes Landon?
Landon: I want to go to.
Me: Where do you want to go?
Landon: Horse. Ride.
Me: You want to go on a horse ride?
Landon: Yes! Shoes. Cows. Go car.

I love his one word sentences that I have to piece together! We have this same conversation every day with a different go to place. Yesterday it had been the horses. The day before it was the beach, today it is the park, and I am sure tomorrow it will be the zoo. He always says "I want to go to" and then brings me his shoes. He really thinks that we can just up and go to these things and when I tell him that we can't today or that it is too late and dark outside he throws a fit...gotta love the two year old mind!

I Don't Know!

I last posted Landon's most recent phrase, which is "I love you". There is another phrase that Landon has been saying for a couple of weeks now that continually makes us laugh. When we ask Landon why he did something he responds with an "I don't know". The way he says it is just too cute. We constantly find ourselves asking Landon questions to purposely get him to say "I don't know". You can see for yourself just why we do such a thing:

Now isn't that the cutest "I don't know" that you have ever heard?! The cuteness factor also gets upped when he's in his Buzz towel. Landon loves his Buzz Lightyear towel. He loves it so much that I am contemplating buying him the Woody towel the next time I go to the store. He wears it for hours after his bath. He even insisted on blowing bubbles in it yesterday evening. Landon also learned how to actually blow the bubbles off of the wand yesterday as well.
When he realized that he was able to blow the bubbles onto my leg he couldn't stop laughing.

Bubble Bubble!

Here is a quick funny story about Landon today. Landon has been congested the past couple of days. As I was getting dressed today he came running to me yelling "bubble" "bubble" over and over again. I knew I had placed his bubbles in the closet out of his sight and reach so I looked to see what he was talking about. He managed to blow a snot bubble and was so excited that there was a bubble coming out of his nose. He kept blowing snot bubbles over and over again while excitedly yelling "bubble"! It really gave me a good laugh.

Welcoming Fall!

The weather has been amazing these past couple of days. Landon and I have been enjoying most of our days outside. I hate to waste such cool and breezy days indoors. The weather has been such a nice change since it had been soooo hot for far too long. Seeing how we live in Florida, I am sure it will be back up to 90 degrees shortly so we are taking full advantage of these cool days. This morning I took Landon and Tink for a walk and we wound up at the tennis court. I closed the gate to the court so that Landon and Tink could run around freely. We spent over an hour outside playing with a ball, blowing bubbles, and chasing one another around. We would have been longer, but Landon managed to get his foot stuck underneath the fence so I took him back inside so I could check him over properly. Once I made sure that his foot was ok he fell asleep. I must have tired him out. Him and Tink are both currently napping on the bed. I plan to spend the rest of the afternoon outside once Landon awakes from his nap. I am even contemplating a picnic lunch. The weather is perfect for one. I just don't know if Landon's behavior would be perfect for a picnic! I am envisioning Landon eating more dirt than his sandwich....we shall see.

The face of a boy who decided to suck on the bubble wand! Even Tinkie got in on the bubble fun!Typical Landon- getting himself caught on the net.
